Before your session...
Wardrobe
What makes photos so fabulous and personalized is trying to capture you with things that you love. What is your "thing"? Would it be going to the movies, sports, do you have a large collection of concert tickets, do you love to read, ride bikes, hunt or fish, cook out,  go shopping....? Whatever it is you love to do we can think of a fun way to show that using props and capture you with them candidly.

Also people always ask about wardrobe. These are once in a lifetime photos so you'll want it to be special. Its your time to shine and to be outlandish. Lots of layers and accessories photograph the best. Don't do something you aren't comfortable with, but don't be afraid to push the limits.

Here are a few easy steps to help make your portraits even more amazing:
1. Choose 3 or more colors to make up the color scheme. Having everyone incorporate 2 or more colors helps the group look well rounded and pulled together.
2. Layer, layer, layer! Instead of everyone wearing a solid shirt, mix up the coloring by layering. This allows people to stand next to each other and not to blend in and adds lots of dimension. Layers and textures can add a lot to an ensemble.
3. If you can, choose a centerpiece. A child, colorful scarf, jewelry etc.
4. Dress the hardest people first. Women are usually the hardest to dress, so find what you want them to wear first and then choose the guys shirts/pants with the remaining colors you need.
5. Don't forget to accessorize! Belts, jewelry, scarves, etc. Anything to add that extra splash of color.
6.--Lastly, do not dress in all the same shirt color! Like all white, or all black! You dont want to all blend together.

When posing, the more animated and modelesque you are the better. You may feel silly while posing, but it transfers so well in the final print. Don't be afraid to go for it!

Venue
Great pictures are like real estate. Location location location! When trying to decide on a location, try to choose a place that is aesthetically pleasing and has great natural light. Something unique (a-typical) is usually best. If you choose an indoor location be sure that if it is an empty room that it has lots of great decor to cover up the bad lighting.
